
Have you ever read any books by Napoleon Hill? A lot of people have read his most famous book, Think and Grow Rich, but haven’t heard of some of his others. Today’s post on leadership is inspired by his lesser-known book called The Law of Success. It was written during the time of the great depression, but his lessons still hold true to today’s world. Here is Napoleon Hill’s list The 20 Qualities a Leader Must Possess. Tell me what you think!
- Complete mastery over the six basic fears. The fear of criticism, the fear of poor health, the fear of losing a loved one, the fear of old age, the fear of poverty, and the fear of death. This is a huge one! We cannot successfully lead of move forward in any endeavor if we are consumed with fear.
- Willingness to forgo some personal interests for the good of others (eliminating greed).
- Having a definite purpose in mind.
- Understanding the principle of forming a mastermind alliance in harmony with others. People cannot be successful on their own without the help of other people.
- Self-confidence
- Ability to quickly reach decisions.
- Imagination
- The ability to take initiative
- Enthusiasm and the ability to transmit enthusiasm to others
- Self-control in its highest form
- A willingness to render more service than paid for
- A pleasing personality
- The ability to think accurately
- The ability to cooperate with others
- Concentration
- The willingness to profit from failures and mistakes
- Tolerance of all people
- Restraint from self sabotaging activities
- Honesty
- Treating others the way you’d want to be treated/application of the Golden Rule in all of your relationships
